The Twilight Star Collection was inspired by the stillness of twilight, that sacred threshold between day and night when the first stars begin to shimmer in the Malibu sky. Standing beneath that canopy of light, I am reminded of Ram Dass’s teaching that what feels separate is in truth deeply connected. Each of us luminous threads in a vast collective consciousness.
I first discovered Ram Dass’s work eight years ago during my 200-hour yoga teacher training at YogaWorks. In a workshop with Chuck Miller, at a small Church in Santa Monica, we opened Be Here Now. A book that changed the way I understood both yoga and life. It sits in my pod here in Malibu, my sacred meditation space. It was in those early pages that I began to see the dissolution of the self not as a loss, but as a sacred return. A way of coming home to the truth that we are not alone, but part of a greater whole.
The Symbolism
- Interconnectedness: Just as stars belong to constellations, we are part of a shared web of love and consciousness.
- Dissolving the Self: In the vast night sky, the ego softens (we hope). What remains once we release the attachment to ego is connection, belonging, and a sense of home. It is within us all.
- Guidance in Darkness: For millennia, stars have led travelers across seas and deserts. The stars are a compass. This collection is a reminder that even in darkness, there is light to guide us.
- Collective Soul: What seems distant is in fact intertwined. The stars above reflect the truth within us.
The Inspiration
Twilight by the ocean has always been a meditation for me, the deepening colors, the first stars breaking through, the slowing of the day. In those moments, the words of Ram Dass return: Be here now. To stand under the stars is to step into presence, to remember both our smallness and our belonging to something infinite.
The Twilight Star Collection carries this spirit. Each design echoes the night sky — diamonds and gems set like constellations in gold, reminders of individuality and unity, of being one star and part of the whole.
It is my hope that wearing these pieces is like carrying a fragment of the night sky with you. That it is an invitation to remember your place in the infinite, your light among the many, your belonging to the collective soul.
