Made to Order
Each piece is created after you've placed your order. Hand-crafted in 18k gold in our Downtown Los Angeles studio. About six weeks from order to delivery.
Why made-to-order
We don't manufacture our pieces in production runs. We don't keep inventory on a shelf. When you order a Malibu Soul piece, that is the moment the piece begins.
We work this way for three reasons:

Materials. We use solid 18k gold and natural-color, jeweler-grade gemstones — E-F-VS diamonds, hand-selected emeralds, tourmalines, and turquoise.

Singularity. Every piece is hand-finished by a small team. No two pieces are identical, even within the same design. The diamonds settle slightly differently, the carving sits a hair differently, and the polish is done by a human eye on your piece.

Heirloom thinking. A piece made for you, by hand, is a piece you can repair, resize, and pass down. It enters the world as part of an ongoing relationship.
How it works
1. You place your order. Choose your size, gemstone, and any chain or band specifications. Pay in full at checkout.
2. We confirm and begin. Within 1–2 business days, you'll receive an order confirmation with your expected delivery window. Stones are selected from that day's parcel. Wax is shaped. The piece begins.
3. Your piece is made. Cast in 18k gold. Stones individually set, including on the bale. Hand-finished and polished. We photograph every finished piece before it leaves the studio.
4. We ship it to you. Insured, tracked shipping, complimentary on orders over $200. Standard 3–7 business days within the US, express available at checkout.

Custom or commissioned pieces (engraving, alternate gemstones, bespoke designs) take an additional 2–4 weeks.

Sizing
Rings. If you don't know your ring size, request a complimentary ring sizer through our contact form. We'll mail it before you commit. Resizing on Malibu Soul rings is offered at cost for the lifetime of the piece.
Necklaces and pendants. Standard chain lengths are 16, 18, 20, and 22 inches. Custom lengths available on request — note it in the order or email us within 24 hours.
Hoops and earrings. Sizes (small, medium, large) are listed on each product page with millimeter measurements. Try our size comparison chart →.
Materials
Gold. Solid 18k yellow gold (75% gold by weight). We do not work in 14k, gold-fill, vermeil, or plated metals.
Diamonds. E-F color, VS clarity. Individually set, including on the bale and on small accent stones. Sourced through long-standing trade partners with conflict-free provenance.
Gemstones. Natural-color stones, hand-selected. Emerald, turquoise (including rare Mongolian natural), red and blue tourmaline, malachite, onyx, rose quartz, jade, citrine, variscite. We do not use lab-grown gemstones or color-treated material.
Pearls and beaded strands. Hand-strung, finished with 18k gold clasps.

Custom orders
If you have a piece in mind that's not in the collection — a stone you'd like featured, a memorial piece, a re-set of an inherited stone — we accept a limited number of custom commissions each season.

Include: the piece you're thinking of, any stones or materials you want incorporated, your timeline, and your budget. Most custom pieces fall between $5,000 and $25,000. We respond within 2 business days.
Returns, repairs, and resizing
Because every piece is made to order, our return policy reflects that:
- Returns. Unworn, undamaged pieces in original packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery for store credit or exchange.

Custom and personalized pieces. Final sale. Not eligible for return.

Resizing. Offered at cost on all Malibu Soul rings, for the lifetime of the piece.

Repairs. Offered at cost on all Malibu Soul pieces, for the lifetime of the piece. Email hello@malibusoulfinejewelry.com with photos of the piece and a description.

Polishing. Complimentary annual polish on any Malibu Soul piece — just cover return shipping.

Frequently asked
Can I cancel a made-to-order piece after I've placed the order? Cancellations are accepted within 48 hours of order placement. After that, the piece is already in production and we can no longer cancel.
What if my piece doesn't fit? For rings, resizing is offered at cost. For necklaces, chain length adjustments are offered at cost. For everything else, contact us within 14 days of delivery.
Is the price the final price? Yes. Shipping is complimentary on US orders over $200. Sales tax applies in California. International duties (if applicable) are calculated at checkout.
How will I know when my piece ships? You'll receive an email with tracking the day your piece leaves the studio.
